The honest, bounded answer is yes, for two specific things: how sore you feel and how your neuromuscular system reads on power and strength tests, not for how fast tissue actually repairs. How cold and how long for recovery, the dose that works

When the sore part is one joint, not all of you

The hypertrophy trade-off
Roberts et al. Mood and readiness, the other half of recovery
Feeling ready to train again is not only physical.
